Nova
~Media: Vampire Hunter D One of the many dhampiric half-siblings to D, and one of the handful who managed to escape their shared father's callously murderous clutches in his attempts to make the perfect half-breed. Nova was saved as an infant by his nursemaid when his mother wasn't so lucky, a young Noblewoman herself who was ecstatic to help her Sacred Ancestor's experiments but soon grew cold toward him at his cruel decisions. A Noble lord some distance away took the pair in and helped to raise young Nova outside his father's eye, and so he grew with knowledge of his Noble bloodlines. It wasn't until an unaffiliated vampire hunter murdered both his parental figures that Nova learned what he actually was and spent many years researching into it himself as per his adopted mother's request. Although he's imperfect as far as the Ancestor's dhampirs go (D was the only registered success to the Ancestor's experimentations), Nova does his best to be fairly kind-hearted, even though his beauty and detachment to the immediate world around him at first betray his genetic allegiances. While he adheres to many strengths of his vampiric blood and many strengths of the human side, the cons outweigh the pros and so he finds himself regularly in the lurch. The urges for the trademark sinister appetite are strong, but he's personally attempted to forsake the need for human blood, taken to animal blood and the capsules produced specifically for his kind. After all, he's trying his best to avoid trouble, the consequences of such being on the end of his infamous half-brother's sword. |
Delfi the Seer
~Media: DoroHedoro Delfi was born to a prestigious Sorcerer bloodline, one known to have ties to time-based magic. However, it didn't manifest in the same ways as would be expected, as throughout their history, her lineage has been known as oracles and seers. Although cryptic, their predictions are fairly accurate and sought after by those seeking to learn their fates. Delfi's ability manifested in roses, and it has influenced her lifestyle and aesthetic so much that everything involving her shows the motif. However, no matter how delicate she appears to be, Delfi can be ruthless when provoked and will allude that those seeking to force a prediction find themselves as tribute to the copious rosebuds that grow all across her abode. Given her family's prestigious reputation, Delfi has never been partnered (forced or otherwise). |
Zael
The only one of the three who carries the clan name, and is the only one actually born into the culture. The second son of the head family, he became the armorer when his sister took the title of chieftain and he's pretty skilled at it. He's made and reforged the armor inherited by himself and his clan generation, proud to stamp the imagery of their symbolic Grass into each piece. He's also clan representative for any of the nomadic members, and they'll begrudgingly call for him when matters need to be handled on account of clan affairs. See, Zael's a bit of a wildcard. A hothead and fairly obnoxious, his adopted brother and sister keep him as well-behaved as they can to little avail. Due to how his clan is seen to much of the Houses, Zael puts a huge emphasis on family and so remains extremely loyal to those he considers such. Despite the way Grass follows the creed, Zael holds to it fairly well, if anything to put naysayers against him and his clan in their places. |
Marlo
Compared to his other two siblings, Marlo is fairly even-tempered. Being rescued and subsequently adopted by a passing member of the clan when he was young, Marlo took to his new lifestyle and teachings very well. Of the three of them, he's the easiest one to get along with and plays as the voice of reason when Zael tries to overpower Fariah in any situation. Marlo is the most mechanically-minded of the three and has found his role as the mechanic, engineer, and pilot for their ship and almost any vehicle he comes across if he has time to see the innards. Marlo also has a very strange ability to his name, though the origins of it aren't well-known to anyone he's privately asked. When he becomes stressed, he blanks out and uses a specific tone of voice that seems to calm any within immediate hearing range and makes them susceptible to suggestion. If he's being honest, it's probably the only thing that keeps his brother alive some days. |
Fariah
Fariah is, in a word, intense. Born out of strange circumstances on an even stranger world, she stowed away on a ship belonging to one of the clan in her youth and managed to wheedle her way into his heart. Like Marlo, she easily adapted into the lifestyle and teachings and grew up along him and Zael. She gets along with Marlo fairly easily, but her and Zael get on like a house on fire when the latter is being particularly ill-behaved. She has a strong sense of honor and an even stronger warrior nature to back up her thoughts and actions, but the lack of exaggerated emotion makes her intimidating, a trait made worse with how tall she is compared to her siblings. Fariah embraced her warrior culture with flying colors, becoming an expert in weaponry and combat strategy, owning the largest arsenal in her little family. If anyone needs more firepower, not only can she produce something to fit that need, but she's also good at cobbling together things on the fly to reach where stock will not. She also upholds as much of the creed as she can, probably the most devout to it when Zael isn't quoting it in defense of his family. |
Blizzard Heart
The Queane of Winter, Blizzard Heart lives at the far northern borders where the wind and snow never stop in a fortress kingdom known as The Precipice. She is a very large and sturdy alicorn, covered in coiling thick hair to protect her from her season's harshest of elements. An incident involving her father and the temporary loss of the magical barrier that separates Equestria from the far north's Wylde Territories left her without a right wing, though her prowess in channeling Wylde Magick gave her the ability to produce a shimmering prosthetic that functions. Blizzard Heart is not the warmest creature, a testament to her duties and her element. She shows subdued emotion that make her actions seem cruel at times, and she has a very blunt and practical attitude. While she is not known to be dictated by heartstrings, she does love her people -at both The Precipice and in Equestria as a whole- and everything she does as a Queane is done with the All in mind, even if it means sacrificing one or two for them. |
Blossom Storm
Compared to her sister in the north, Blossom Storm is a tall and willowy Queane. Stationed at the east barriers, she is the Queane of Spring. Her kingdom is sprawled across eternally-green rolling hills and meadows, always fragrant and flowering. There always seems to be baby animals in the region and her native peoples flourish and frolic in mild weather despite being so close to the nearby Wylde Territory. Blossom Storm is seen as a flighty and vain individual at first glances, always elegant and decorated with a musical voice that feels almost vapid in its tone. However, her people will tell anyone that this is not the case. If anything, Blossom is devious against those who would mean her people harm. She is just as unpredictable as her element, calm demureness leading into crackling storming rage if provoked if it means she can protect those who look up to her. Truly a personage as uncertain as Spring. |
Sunny Brine
The twin sister to Blizzard Heart, Sunny Brine controls Summer. The exact opposite of her sister and barely half her size, the dignified and proper Queane is stationed in the far south. The kingdom of Summer is tropical, spread across a hot and humid archipelago in a shallow sea backed up against the southern Wylde Territory. The kinder of the twins, it's not hard to get along with Sunny. She does have a capricious nature to her, but it hardly dictates her day to day. She is far more people-oriented and will do everything in her power to make sure everyone gets to go home at the end of the day. She seems to thrive off the energy of her people and despite being prim and courtly on official business, isn't afraid to let loose when her responsibilities are complete. Like all her sister Queanes, however, Sunny is also not afraid to draw on the more unpredictable side of her element, controlling heat and flame, a hazard of living so close to and drawing power from the Wylde Territories of the region. |
Fragrant Breeze
The mellow kingdom of the west, the kingdom of Autumn is the most subdued. Twin to her tall flighty sister of the Spring, Fragrant Breeze is Queane of Autumn. The most punctual of the four, Fragrant Breeze is not afraid to roll in the dirt with her people. A sturdy alicorn, she can constantly be found as a farmer in the rolling fields and orchards of her kingdom, helping to harvest fine crops to stock for winter. A fairly recent event caused her to lose her left eye, also delivering a gnarled scar down the side of her face and neck, but it's done nothing to stop her work ethic. If anything, she pours herself more into the work. Fragrant Breeze is perhaps the most even-tempered of the four Queanes. Her emotions are constantly in check and she's kind of a workaholic. Be it politics or harvesting, she can be found working either with the same tireless attitude. One of the easier Queanes to get along with, she does have a darkly fatalistic sense of humor that is off-putting toward those who aren't used to it. She is not as unpredictable as her sisters when it comes to the influence of her nearby Wylde Territory and it even takes a lot to anger her enough to see said influence. She is not one to manipulate the space around her when angry, but she is a lot more 'hands on' with her approach to it, depending on the offense. |
